Hello,
I'm using an Arca Swiss F-Metric 4x5, which now has the problem
that the front standard swing guide/ruler has become loose
and can be turned left and right by finger.
(first and second...
Awesome photograph, Arkasha!
Love how you've emphasized perspective with the close-up foreground.
Replacing the lamps didn't help either, but they're fully compatible, as you said.
Turns out it was the dirty mirror causing the lamp brightness warning.
After cleanup, the warning is gone.
...
Thanks guys, good to know!
Got my hands on a 5000 which resolves better than my 5500.
Set it up yesterday, but it has a low-light warning with the elder lamps, so I'll try to swap replace them...
Hi,
does someone know if the 5000 & 5500 lamps are interchangeable?
Best regards,
Martin
Hmmmm. With more and more prints, and also shaking the Gloss Enhancer, somehow it goes from medium grey to light grey.
Must have something to do with it ...
Hmmmm. Many of the Inks are past expiration.
Could the Gloss Enhancer somehow have turned grey?
Now I've created a Custom ICC Profile.
Perhaps that will help ...

Martin
Hi,
reactivated my HP Z3200ps after a long time.
Fortunatly after a print head cleaning run, all is good with the print heads and the diagnostic nozzle test image.
Now I've tried to print an...
Great shot, Arkasha!
First test shot using Divided Pyrocat.
Not quite satisfied with the composition though.
Wish I had a bit more wide angle to include more of the vegetation on the right side.
Also, the wind and...

Hi,
thanks Gui, the tray appears flat and is well-seated.
I tried a different position and also putting a picture frame glass on top, but it does not change the issue.
BTW, I found out the...
Hi Peter,
OK, that's what I expected to be possible when I decided to buy the scanner, and different users seem to report at least 5300dpi - 6000dpi.
I only used the 9000dpi setting to get some...
Hmmm, a colleage got this, which seems to be superior in every way:

Here's a crop of the interesting part:

Peter and Gui, thanks for the tips about the tray!
Think I'll order some glass from F-Point.
OK, for now I've made experiments with the standard ANR tray.

Hi,

drove a total of 16 hours in the last 2 days to pick up my Screen Cézanne Elite FT-S5500 from Germany ...
Cleaned up and reassembled the scanner today.

Thanks fishbulb!
Sorry, but the embedded color profile had 5000K, which is not supported with all browsers,
therefore it looked to blue. I've replaced the file:...

Great!
With Provia in my experience, in dusk/dawn situations - and expecially in twilight - the cold color temps can become overpresent, but in your's it's nicely "warm"!
Guess I should give it...
Hi Georg,
quoting Rafael from the Tango-Primescan-Group:
Alex,
I also prefer the third one, did you use a warmup filter?
Best regards,
Martin
Yeah, and especially not in this case.
The water has no detailled texture, so when blending you favour the stones/moss/etc
Thanks, Rory!
@Stone,
ckagy, Rory and Old-N-Feeble are right!
I exposed two sheets of film, one exposed for the fast water, one for everything else.
Then drum scanning, loading both scans...
Great!
Hi Stone,
that's because of the subject contrast range.
Had no negative film with me.
So I took one exposure for the foreground, in which the water is mainly white,
and one for the water, in...
Great shot, Michael!
Thanks!, Boinzo!
Good detail on yours, I like when I see the single "threads" of the waterfall (not sure how to call this in proper English).
Hi Peter!
I hope so!
Do you know if the software needs a serial?
AFAIK, it's "abandonware" anyway, as Screen does no longer support these scanners and it doesn't even seem possible to buy...
Thanks guys!
Hope I'll find a solution.
Seems that for color neg scanning, the Cezanne gets away with quite clean but hi-rez files.
Would love to rescan my bad Portra 400 scans.

Hi,
I have the chance to pick up a Screen Cézanne Elite FT-S5500 in good condition from a printing company,
but unfortunately they've lost the software along with the computer.
Is this a lost...
Glad you like, Derek!
Your kind words motivate me to scan a bit more ... in the meantime I've a pile-up of unscanned transparencies :-)
