Thank you everyone for the education about SCSI/Vuescan. I am planning on migrating from my current Win XP Pro 32 bit to a new box with Win 7 64 bit, and I was worried that my SS 120 will not have...
If that is a dead end, let me know via PM. I have the Polaroid SS 120 MF scanner, and if memory serves me, the software CD includes drivers for all Polaroid scanners, including 45 Ultra. I can send...

Lest the passages below in bold, italic, and underscored become part of urban legend, I should clarify: In inkjet printing, there is no tone (hue) independent of density ("file info" in Tyler's...
Darr,
Your friend in TN (along with others) is very appreciative of this annual exchanges you have hosted. Thank you.

I have many "where" lusts (see below). But the biggest lust in my life is "time" to concentrate on photography. I would be perfectly happy to find the time to shoot within a few hours drive from home...
Soory for the delay. I can ship Monday.

The larger one is not the parking pad. It is called the "flushing box". This is where in inkjet fires during printing. What occasions that I don't know.
The one further to the right is the capping...
I am using this for Darr's 2010 Exchange
Zone VI 4x5, 135 mm lens, exposure not recorded, Fuji Provia
I did not invent this use - I am sure I read it someplace. I use it on the glass holder of a Polaroid SS 120 scanner. A few drops of fluid, film emulsion down, wipe with Pec Pad, and scan. I just...
I have used Ronsonol for a few years now - no issue that I can tell.

Darr,
Please count me in.
Regards & Happy New year.

My own voice never goes past a 1x2 aspect ratio. I would like to think that "the more you speak, the less you have to say." But I have seen some good 1x3 pictures. Longer than that is more about...
I personally prefer square images in a rectangular frame (portrait orientation), and I also like rectangular images in a square frame.
This paper is cheaper at Amazon than the Epson clearance store.
My visual assesment matches Tyler's numbers. Ilford Gold Silk is not "warm". It just is not as "cool" as some others.
No you cannot use 4800 carts on 3800. The carts are physically different, even though the inks inside are the same.
Hey Chris,
Excellent photograph. I have some hydrangeas growing and am planning on phographing them. Can you give us some technical details? I am interested to know what format, lens focal length,...
Same here.

I look forward to the next round - soon, please.

Some Epson feed problems can be fixed by re-initializing the printer, by switching it off, pull the power plug. Keep turned off for a minute. If you have not done so, try it. Good luck.

I received the prints earlier today. They are great. Thank you all, and especially Darr for running such a smooth exchange.
Best regards to all.
My 9 prints just went out. I am in group 1.
Thank you.
I will be mailing my set closer to the deadline of March 15 - but they will get there:p
Hello All,
My wife and I need a Navajo guide to take us on a private tour through Monument Valley on Christmas day - sunrise to sunset. Do you have recommendations for a guide or company who will...
What I have done previously on my 4870 (but not very often) is:
(1) I wet mounted an 8x10 piece of approximately 1 mm thick float glass onto the scanner glass bed. I used film emulsion cleaner for...
Just straight ND - not graduated ND.
Well, I sure pissed when taking this about 4 minute exposure - really! I had to go very badly halfway during the exposure, so I just stood there at the tripod, unzipped and let it fly. Oh, and it was...
I have bought a few prints from others - not many. But I have literally 100's of others' prints through print-exchanges. I cycle my walls with my friends' prints.
For every renowned photographer...
When I started 4x5 a few years ago, I bought a dark cloth - never used it. I use an old
North Face rain jacket; it is light, and comes in handy for other pursposes. It keeps my tripod mounted gear...
First, we ALL have different senstivities to different colors. I know through experience that I am magenta sensitive, i.e., i can detect even a slight magenta cast that another may not see. I...
Both from my experience. I have read reflective density readings of 2.5+ with:
(1) Epson K3 Photo Black ink on most semgloss, luster papers, including Crane Silver Rag, Innova Type F Gloss, and...
I bought my Zone VI used a few years ago from someone I know from print exchanges (never met the chap). Mine is mahagony with gold plated brass and a plate on it says "Made by Zone VI Studios, New...
