I haven't done any wetplate photography in months, so decided to do something special. Use my earliest lens. This is a three digit serial number Ross (spelled Rofs the first few years) from 1843. This is a daguerreotype lens, before wetplate was invented. I'm not sure I've shot it more than once or twice. Last weekend it was in the front of the safe, on the right size lensboard, so it got exercise! Pretty happy with these 2 plates (out of 5 shot) of my wive and youngest daughter, that some of you have seen plates of over the years growing up. Now out of the house, I don't see her often, but was glad to this weekend.
Still in the rinse, I'll scan later. But they look pretty good considering I haven't poured a plate this year. 1843....can you imagine?
