But why would you shoot 20x24? All these big formats produce blurry images, and I'm not talking about camera shake...
At such a small aperture, with a lens that has such a huge image circle, the resolution is likely to be significantly less than a well shot 8x10 inch sheet of film at a sharp aperture with a nice Rodenstock Sironar S or Schneider APO Symmar, eh?
Schneider's 550 XXL Fine Art Lenses produce an incredibly sharp image from edge to edge and all the way out to the corners. At the size he is blowing these up to if he is using that lens I'm sure the results are quite stunning. The point being there are lenses out there for that format that are every bit as sharp as he needs them to be to get sharp imagery for the format. I shoot a 550 XXL on my 20 x 24 and blurriness is not a problem. There are many others but that is not one of them!

btw does anyone know how Kodak packaged the film--is that 10 to a box or 25? That Portra's got to make the Ilford I buy every year look like food stamp money in comparison. Would love to have a box just to play around with!
Monty, look at the pics. 10 sheets
Hello ,
there is no 20x24 portra 160 boxe in the fridge of massimo if i look the left photo ?
Thanks Vinny. I didn't look close enough, I guess I was too blown away by the amount of boxes in one order!
Monty
maybe it went to China, like the majority of our US dollars
another thing to consider: Kodak doesn't like to make multiple sizes off of one run of sheet film, unlike Ilford(who'll make 1 box of a certain size during the S/O period 1x/yr). So if someone shoots both 8x20 and 12x20 for example, this way they have options when cutting it down. (3) 8x20's, or (2) 12x20 negatives out of one sheet of 20x24. Not "ideal", but a workaround.
