Wife came home from an auction today with a widget I've never seen before. We have no idea what it is. It's wooden and old (came with an old Century or maybe Kodak 2D 5x7 camera and wooden Eastco film holders.) It measures 10 1/2" x 12" square and sitting on its feet, folded up, is 3" high. It unfolds into a "Z" shaped object; the top is some black substance with a wooden divider down the center, the center panel of the "Z" is a frosted glass, like a ground glass, with adjustable wooden sliding pieces, and the bottom panel is a 6 1/2" x 6 1/2" mirror in a wooden frame which tilts. Here are some pictures. Anyone have any idea what this is or what it's for? I'm just guessing that it has some darkroom use.
