    Thanks, all! Not too much depth-of-field in this. The aperture was around f/8-f/11 which I feel is good for portrait work with that lens. Just enough to keep the important features of the subjects' faces within focus.

    As for the film edge... It is at least the actual edge of the film. In cases where the composition fits pleasingly within the frame, I like to leave it. When it's not so good, or off the mark, then I crop the image to get the right balance. My personal preference is to have the frame there when I can.

    Literally seconds! I was surprised my kids were still during the process...of course it didn't hurt having cartoons on the tv behind and to the left of me.

    A minor question. Do you really need the black borders? I feel they're imprisoning and puts a limit on the real estate of any matte or wall the the pictures can command attention over. Black borders are most often gimmicks that don't really add anything.
