That's really sad. He worked very hard on those prints, and even if the original negs
were still available, the pan matrix film he uses exists only in his diminshing personal stock. His inkjet prints are particularly good but just can't match the vivid
hues of the dye transfers, which are so appropriate for this subject matter. I once saw how a bozo in an expensive gallery framing room managed to ruin a whole pile of Manual Alvarez Bravo's life work. I checked out the back room deliberately, and even though they offered me a show, politely refused them.
That was a truly tragic story. I'll never patronize them as a buyer OR a seller knowing how they run their business now.
