Makeshift Prayer Shack (abandoned) between Burned Trees
There is a little church up the hill, but since old people can't hike up there, the church people erected this makeshift prayer shack. Now that the hills burned down, it's abandoned.

Oh, and the camera was leveled, there just aren't any level walls in this shack. Just the right thing to follow up on pictures of Canterbury Cathedral :-)

Little Shasta Church, in very northern California. 90 mm with as much front rise as I could get, followed by a little digital perspective correction. Orange filter.
The setting of this church is inhcredible. Mount Shasta is about 15 miles away, and very beautiful this time of year. In the photo it would be just to the left of the church, if not covered by clouds. I'm not sure I would shoot both the mountain and the church together, as I think it would detract from both. It is an awesome sight to just look at when both are visible, though.

Old Webster Church, Dexter, Michigan. The oldest continuously used church in Washtenaw County. Named for Daniel Webster, built in 1834. Sadly, the print image is better than the 4x5 scan appears on-screen. I was limited as to where I could shoot from, very low and close. I tried to get things vertical with movements, but obviously need more work in that department.
