Er...the things you do on a whim...

I figure at a total of $3.74 (though I'm going to make sure she sends it boxed and packaged well, so it'll probably be slightly more) I have a nice project lens. I'm hoping for just dust, though.

I generally like taking chances. I've gotten some good deals.

If anyone can tell me by the looks of the thing what it is, I'd be grateful.

I suspect it's an enlarging lens. Whether it's a good deal depends on whether you put it to good use. While there are quite a few who would disagree with me, I've been feeling more and more lately that almost any lens that throws an image has wonderful potential, if only someone would realize it...

I saw that lens earlier. I believe it's an enlarging lens, but I've been wrong before. I agree with Mark's statement about lenses. Why not mount it up and take a shot with it? It may be a pleasant surprise. After all, people are even using magnifying glasses as lenses, searching for a new look.

Oh, I plan on mounting it. Dunno how it's going to work yet, though. Depending on focal length I may have to rig something slightly strange...but I promise to take photos! (With and of the lens.)

Wayne: Very helpful, thanks! I'll look at it again when I get it in the mail.

Definitely needs cleaned up, though. Hrm.
