    Not sure what this thing is, but it was fascinating in this light. I think it as some kind of portal to another dimension.

    I haven't been able to scan 8x10 film for a long time, as my huge old pre-press scanner is on the fritz. As a result, I made a scanner. It's basically a sliding light box/negative holder, along with a camera positioning structure, using a Nikon Z9 and a AF-S 60mm Micro lens. I take three photos of the negative and stitch. The file produced would make approximately a 30x38" print at 300 dpi, which is plenty big for me. Here's the first scan. The image was taken using a Germinar W 240 as a convertible lens, using just the rear element to give approximately a 450mm lens. The film is Foma 200. Intrepid 8x10 MKIII camera.
