I was playing with the polarizer to get through the glare, but found the image to be too busy and too boring, so I turned it to maximize glare, and liked the results better:

Recently, I found a box of Kodak 4x5" infrared film that expired in 1998. I headed to Lakeside Park yesterday to use a few sheets. These are all 8 second exposures, and it was very windy. The first two were with a No. 25 dark red filter. The last one was with no filter. Yep, I forgot to replace the filter. Such a newbie!

Fun stuff, Peter! Was there much over-all fog due to age?
Top image is especially well done. I also appreciate how the first and last image rewards one if one gives them the time the deserve (showing that sometimes it's okay to give the viewer the bird.)
The middle image has a wonderful light about it. I find it interesting that cropping out just the bridge -- or just cropping out the boats -- both give very satisfying compositions that almost compete for my attention on my computer screen. This is an image I would like to see medium sized (11x14, perhaps) and on the wall to fully appreciate its complex simplicity.

Thanks, Vaughn! There was some edge fog and some emulsion defects...almost as bad as Foma! Ok, the old IR film was worse. The top image took awhile to compose, as just image left and image right are some nasty things in the background, i.e. parking lots and chain link fencing. I was surprised that the no filter shot showed as much IR effect as it did.
It was a very windy day.
