I wasn't aware that EW was a fan of the 14" Commercial Ektar--- I'll have to treat mine better( she could have belonged to Edward Weston!)

I once cleaned the front element with vodka (a field expedient measure) I wonder if EW would have approved?

"a friend of mine believes he has weston's 12-inch Cooke triple-convertible"

So don't keep us hanging - does it still make great photographs of nudes on sand, peppers, shells, etc.? : - )

Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you do criticize them you'll be
a mile away and you'll have their shoes.

actually, now I think about it, I recall it's the Turner Reich he got for his Guggenheim trip and complained about afterwards, passed on via Bill Gedney

Not sure it's been used to much recently...

An entry from his Daybook, regarding an arranged photograph:

"Technically dissatisfied with what should have been my best photograph of 'los pajaritos,' I spent another several hours attempting to duplicate it: impossible to place even inanimate objects exactly as seen before. I still think my failure the best seen negative though the actual difference is ever so slight."
