    Hello LF my old friend...

Heya guys, I am Alessio, a professional still life photographer. I am Italian but moved to London 7 years ago. My English is still not perfect, so apologise in advance for my poor grammar.
    Something about me.
Roughly 12 year ago I finished a 2-years school of photography, and I started working in a still life studio. At the time Sinar P2 was my best friend, working both with film 6x7 (for creative images) and digital back (for eCom). After two years there, my life took a completely different path:assistant for fashion photographer, and then photographer for various creative agencies, with several ups and downs.

It's 10 years I am not touching a large format camera, and I think it's time to do something about that. I am looking for a Sinar P2 or X, then I would like to see if I can create an hybrid system where I can use a mirrorless as a digital back. I am studying and doing research, so I will need any possible help to understand many aspects of Sinar. Although I was using the P2 almost daily (10 years ago), I was part of a studio where I found everything ready to use, so I never had the thought of actively researching what I was using, which lenses, brand, etc...

Right now I am working as a creative director (or glorified photographer) for an auction house, and my photography specialises in jewellery (macro), from the simple brooch to the million-dollar necklace. It is extremely challenging and fun!

    Welcome to the FORUM.

If you plan on a lot of close-up and macro photography as a professional, you might find digital cameras to be more useful than large format.

I have to say, you know how to use the proper “it’s” and “there” so your English is better than most people I see online for whom English is their first language.

There are adapters for fitting digital cameras to 4x5 cameras.

    Thanks everyone
@xkaes the goal of using digital on a Sinar system is primarily to reduce the amount of focus stacking, thanks to the Scheimpflug principle. But in macro, I don't know how much this will be useful.
