There used to be numerous companies doing this during the film days of commercial printing. The owner of one company I worked for liked to be paid in either silver bars or coins.

They seem to buy used film .. we had a local place that did that not much of a living with silver artificially low .. a few years ago it was 16/tr oz should have been like 300… strip down x ray and make pinwheels is what they do…

Big x ray went digital 10 years ago. Maybe litttle guy? Spot price in the tank, it is being artificially suppressed, instead of 300$/tr oz it is 30 ( a few year ago it was 14 ). Probably 50lb minimum and all sorts of surcharges they charge the customer with helps them deal with being screwed.

Then why is it still selling
Mmm
Tin Can
its selling probably because the US Government contractors ( like EB / GD ) still use it for QA to XRAY ship parts to make sure there ain't any cracks or problems LOL. it's the same reason AZO was produced for so long, the US Government still used it, it probably wasn't as much MAS as legend suggests but JB ( Jack Boucher ) and after Mr Boucher passed away the HABS Program quickly went on to accept digital-print submissions . For the most part big film is dead LOL. , doesn't mean there aren't a few stragglers like people here and elsewhere still using it *THUMBS UP!*. The place you linked to does it in BULK and used X-ray film * WINK*. it used to be that by law hospitals had to hang on to film for 7 years or something, im sure dentist offices are the same, not sure about vets. I don't even think the local x ray tech school teaches how to use film it's all digital. LOL ! They seem to be one of the last places around, so they are probably picking up sloppy seconds ..

BTW I get most of my X-ray info from J. Frank Parnel who drove the 1964 Chevrolet Malibu in Repo Man,
and most of my wisdom from the man who should have been the Nation's Poet Laureate - James Newell Osterberg Jr. ...
Just don't check the trunk!. <<<. LOL
