Some of the oasis's have been removed when the widened the tollway, but some remain, I'm not sure how many though. I hope they will not all disappear as I think they are significant architecturally and speak to our society as well. The company that sponsored the publication of my Chicago River book manages them.

I like photos that make me look twice. LIke, umm, this is on the wrong side of the lettering. Then I'm like "This is the wrong side of the lettering!" brilliant!
Also, I had to look at Google cause I wasn't so sure where Wisconsin is. For real. The midwestern/northern states are confusing to me. Wisconsin is more north than the more populated part of Canada!
