I recently got a HOT wood camera
The finish melted and styrofoam packing stuck big time
I am conducting a test with another on same travel path and temps
anyone else?

You are not exactly generous with details.
I have actually no idea what you are talking about.

Might they have waxed the camera? I can't imagine what else would melt.
I just checked—shellac melts at 167º F, could the camera have gotten that hot?
I see that it was painted—never mind my previous reply...
It could be the sprayed finish didn't have time to properly cure and so was still soft enough to stick to the styrofoam. Acrylics need time to cure beyond just the time it takes for the solvent (often water) to evaporate.
On the other hand, if it was a paint with an aromatic solvent and did not dry well enough, the solvent will melt the styrofoam into the paint, not the other way around
Inside a truck, yes
I will know more tomorrow
as shipment 2 is coming

Acrylics can take years to cure.
I have experienced painted acrylic surfaces that would stick to other plastics 3 years later.

Not adequately shaking the spray paint can could severely impact the durability of the finish too.
