The door will open around 8 am (after breakfast at Peggy Sue's downtown Chesterton). People will show up any time after 8. We need to get everyone registered, have them fill out a lunch request (we cater in lunch), and draw a number out of a hat for the order to show prints. We try to get the first portfolio up by 9 am, depending on weather. With Chesterton being at the south end of Lake Michigan, bad weather can always be an issue (we encourage people to arrive Friday night & stay over), so if we think more are coming, the start time is flexible. We are a pretty informal group & nothing is carved into stone.

Are you within driving distance of Chesterton, Indiana (Just east of Chicago at the lower end of Lake Michigan)? Do you have photographs made with a large format camera sitting in dark boxes just waiting to be seen in the light of day & enjoyed? Join us in two weeks on Saturday, January 28th.

I didn't see any current information on the website about outings or educational seminars for the group. I assume that the more recent events are only viewable by members, so have signed up for membership.

Yes, on the website (www.midwestlargeformat.com), you need to register the first time to gain access to the forum where we plan this event and our monthly shooting outings (as well as follow-up notes & comments). The event on Saturday is an all day event of looking and enjoying images captured with LF cameras. The actual prints could be many different types such as silver, ink jet, platinum, cyanotype, etc. There are no formal education sessions planned, but there is plenty of learning as we are a VERY INFORMAL group that will going out to dinner both Friday & Saturday nights, not to mention the time together during the print review. Between the showing of each portfolio there is time to discuss the prints and socialize. Hope you can join us on Saturday.
