I used 3 different negatives with 4 tissues (one image tried at 4% and 8%). So none were really fine-tuned. Looking at the print -- I think I made it look a little better on-line than in real life (a little lighter over-all on the screen, with the black and highlight values about the same as the print). We used my friend's exposure time (he uses digital negatives) as a starting point and went from there. None of the 4 prints are what I would consider final prints and I am looking forward to using my own tissue to print them.

That shows how experienced you are! Even with my own tissue, it takes me at least 4 prints to get it right. Then again, my negatives vary wildly in terms of tonal scale - which doesn't make it any easier. I'd be thrilled to have a print come out as well as yours in one go!

Well, I have been making carbon prints since 1992 -- I know which of my negs will work well with the process. I certainly can not claim that every neg I make works!

Thanks, Andrew. Working with the wind was fun.

    Really love the 2nd one.

Terrific effect - have you scraped away the emulsion around her head ?

    Thanks

Koraks, if they're both gold toned, how is the difference in color between the two produced?
