I posted this one in Landscapes some time ago. 4x5 with my Gundlach Portrait Petzval, probably f22 or so, El Capitain, TX.
Many thanks, yes a panoramic would work with this. If you'd like to download and play with it I have a pretty big file posted on flikr, just drop the 57 and look for alanbutler. I decided to drive to El Paso from Dallas instead of flying as I usually do, but this was about the only scenic view the whole 10 hour drive.
It's been quiet a while since I shot large format. Just got a Graflex Super D 4x5 and fitted my Petval to it. I need to remount because I have the lens on front of the board instead of protruding through, so I'm not getting infinity. Best of the first 12 are here. All shot wide open at 4.5, most are under exposed so maybe the shutter is a little quicker than marked? All hand held, shot on Ilford Ortho and developed in a Jobo with Pyrocat HD.
The Gundlach Ser. A Portrait Petzval is marked 5x7, so no swirly here on the 4x5
