That looks AWESOME.
I haven't finished it yet but so far it is terrific. Excellent production values.
Thanks,

Fantastic!!
I've seen the film in German here in Austria (German title: Das finstere Tal). A fine film that deserves more international attention. There are lots of worthy Austrian and German films that don't make it outside the German-speaking area of Europe just because of the language barrier (same with any other language besides English, I guess). English films get dubbed into practically every imaginable language, but "foreign language" films don't so often.
Best,
Doremus
I'll be checking it out on Netflix too! I noticed in the trailer that people having their portraits made in a beautiful mountain canyon were posed in front of a painted backdrop of a mountain canyon...
It did look a bit dreary and depressing. Personally, if I were a large format cowboy photographer, with every exposure I'd whip out the darkslide and wave it around over my head, yelling "YEEEE-HAW!!!"
"I love my Verito lens, but I always have to sharpen everything in Photoshop..."
Spoiler alert, sorta: wasn't it strange he did dags and had a repeating rifle? Would have been more plausible for him to do tintypes?
Definitely dark and bleak.
