Here's the funny thing!! I had intended coming on here this evening to have a look at the comments - but also i actually did my darkroom print of the image yesterday, and scanned it just now (the earlier post was a neg scan). I did a final crop in the darkroom - have a look below at my own interpretation on the neg!! Maybe I should print it both ways!!

Many thanks to all who contributed - your comments are extremely useful! George - did you see the thread on APUG re a meet up on Oct 5th?

    Hi Fran,

The full frame version does not play so well to my eyes - especially the more i look at it.

The cropped version is a much more careful and focused composition. It takes you right to the subject without any distraction (the white triangle) or unnecessary elements (the right side of the image).

The cropped version is lovely !

Thanks Dennis for the kind words. I think I prefer the cropped version too.....

    Re: Large Format Landscapes

i love this atmosphere. i have spent the past 2 weeks in the alps except a few days for photokina. I have only shot 4 exposures partly because i don't know the place and the kind of person who wants to know the place very well before taking picture and also because i am on holidays with my family. i try to avoid photography when traveling with non-photographers.
The picture makes me regret the time spent not photographing!

Question, is the pink color enhanced with a filter or with post processing? i don't see the color reflected in the water. it is there but not as intense as you would expect it to be.

There was a time when I would leave the house to take pictures.

Very good! First impression is Banks Lake, WA. Incredible landscapes! Dry Falls is a strange-feeling place...I like photographing there.

When your home was your car and you were living on the side of the road?

    The exposure is PERFECT! Nice!
