I "nailed it" with a little help from curves in PS! The negative was bound to be flat because the subject was, but I think it could have used a bit more "snap" from extra development. Having grown up with analog processes I feel like the ease with which Photoshop allows me to correct my flawed negatives is cheating somehow. That's BS, I know, since masks, dodging and burning, etc. have always been part of the printing process, but the closer I can get my negatives to the way I want them before I start manipulating them the better.

The SBR on this was only two stops. I tried N+2 development but should have pushed farther, I think.

Thanks, Harley. For better or worse I'm certain this isn't the last photo of the sheet I will take. In fact, it's still hanging there and the sun is out....be right back.

....and you thought I was kidding.

Different light, different camera, different lens, different film, different exposure, different development. Same old sheet.

Both of your last two sheet pictures are wonderful Jonathan. I've been meaning to photograph the curtains here in my office in a similar way, but the light is only right for about ten minutes a day and I keep missing my window (no pun intended). Maybe tomorrow I'll set up beforehand and wait.

From Acadia National Park on 4x5 TMY-2 with a 300mm lens at f/96. I call this one "Wolf Spirit".

The sideways, one-eyed, wolf-like face in the center of this tree bark composition grabbed my eye from quite a distance away.
