Hi Brian, thank you! yes I really love the "magic hour" too, as many others (probably because we can watch it only for a very short time). in my experiences the best moments are around 1/2 to 1 hour after sunset so the artificial lights start to shine but still there is strong ambient blue spill around from the sky which gives detail to dark areas. probably there is 1 or max 2 chances to capture the best moment per day. but there are many good thoughts and approaches about this. actually I just found yesterday at Tom Paivas blog this comparison test for shooting twilight, it shows perfectly the small amount of time change and the big effect on the image: http://blog.tompaiva.com/2010/12/19/...hoot-twilight/
