    From CF to wood (tripod)

While the Gitzo 1325 mostly is a super tripod, there`s some situations where I haven`t been too pleased. The 1325 hasn`t any spikes on it`s feet, and on any surface that isn`t hard, it`s kind of wobbles on top, which is hardly ideal with a 8x10 on it. So I ordered a Berlebach 3032 today(buying here in Norway, cheaper here)
Anyone else who has similar experienses with the 1325 in rough terrain?

No problems. Only used it a year. Looks like the G-1325V has spikes. Can they be adapted?

I slipped on some ice once while carrying my camera on a tripod. As I went down, I held the tripod up so as not to damage the camera. Ended up with a big hole in my leg where the tripod spike went throw my jeans and thermals.

Bogen makes a couple different sizes that can be clamped on the outside of a leg -- should be able to find one to fit your Gitzo: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont...goryNavigation

Thanks, I`ll look into those Bogen spikes, they have a lot of different models, so I`ll have to figure out one that can fit.. Anyway, the Berlebach tripod is on it`s way to me...

Thanks Hans! Just what the doctor ordered, but wow, quite expensive...
When I add shipping and VAT, the spikes is over half the cost of the Berlebach tripod.

    Hi Amund,

You may also want to contact Nikonians for the Markins Titanium Spikes. They used to carry them. They are not on their website at present, but I believe that they should be able to get them for you and ship them out of Germany rather from Markins in Canada.

    Here is the Nikonians link:

Hope you can find them. By the way, I like my Markins M20 Ball head that I use with my Linhof Technikardan 45S very much.

for details. Apparently Gitzo now refers to what was a 1338 in 2001 as the 1325V. Cost of the leg sections might be more reasonable in Norway than it was for me through Bogen.

Thanks Sal, but with the 1325 retailing at $903(!!) here in Norway, I doubt that is a good(for my wallet) solution...
Anyway, I`m picking up the Berlebach 3032 tomorrow morning.
