Good work! The test shots are quite enlightening! Thanks for sharing.

I owned a LPL4500II with dichroic color head for several years. It is an exemplary piece of kit. Like most enlargers, it had slight light leaks. Wasn’t a problem for me as the area around the...
Don't forget the Concord Naval Weapons Station, 5,046-acres of mostly below ground or berm bunkers! Low toxic mitigation and few buildings with which to deal. As one might expect, the City of...
The Touro University private security guards were rude. Simple fact, based on my personal, first hand, experience. I avoid that particular property. I was shooting from the gutter at a point across...
Really? Perhaps the security guards at Touro University didn't get the memo?

My SF Bay Area LF meet-up group shot on the Island two weeks ago. Yes, much is now fenced off or rudely "off limits" (Tuoro University, the old hospital). But the Island still offers a rich palette...
Just a thought. I use an RH Designs Stopclock Pro and have built my paper exposure process around it. So I know how unconsciously competent our chosen tools can make us. I think this compensating...
Kevin is quite right. I repair old audio tube amplifiers and pro-sumer reel-2-reel decks. Electrolytic capacitors from the 90's are well past their life expectancy. Get them replaced before they...
It is best to have both standards square and level. Yours front does not appear to be. That will not have a major impact on the image taking capability. It would bother me and I would adjust it....
Here is what I am seeing. I will grab my KM810 tonight and compare. It appears to me that the risers on the front standard are tweaked a bit to the right. Assuming that your pics are "aimed straight...
+1 on both of these comments. Clarity of communication in an online purchase is critical. (Although I have been guilty of multiple item posts!)

Very nicely done!! Antoine is a handsome model!!! Did you focus on his nose?

Peter that is beautiful image!! Well done!! (Can I find the subject on Model Mayhem? ;-) )

Just a reminder QT's wonderful prints will hang until March 26 so get out and see them!!! Hayward is pretty central in the Bay Area!!

Wouldn't have been nice!! I would have bought you a glass of wine!!!! ;-)
Great presentation!!! Wonderful images!!! If Tuan comes to your town go see see him!!

I had great success with PWM, (pulse width modulation) controls. This technology is a better match than potentiometers. Good pots aren't cheap. Cheap pots are not very long lasting as the plastic...
I use LED lights in the overhead sockets no issues. IMO, LED safelights are hardly a waste of time. Incandescent bulbs are a waste of energy. I have been using a DIY red LED safelight, that I can...
I would suggest stepping back and making some realistic determinations on what formats that you want to shoot. If you are committed to eventually going to 5x7, what is the path to get there? What...
It is an Omega D2, condenser head. A solid workhorse if in good shape.

Similar to what I do. I got a few sheets of opaque polyethelene sheets and cut down. I am out of the stock and the old masks are getting shopworn. Gotta find something else!

I got lucky! My 184 has the motors for head, board and focus. I got a great buy because the motors were not working. I simply rewired form the control box to the motors and all three motors work...
The outside dimension is 10x10". The opening is 5x7". That why I didn't question the representation that it would fit the Laraneg.
Cheers,

Thanks! (I think ;-) ) So the 138 goes into the 205, which then goes into the Laraneg, AFTER I remove the glass?
Cheers,
Geary
Need some help. I bought this, Durst Mavet 138, because the seller represented it as a 5x7 mask that would fit the Laraneg in my 184. Got it, tried it....no joy!! So what does this fit?
Cheers,...
Dominico,
You are being far too kind. Quite honestly none of the points made sense to me. But then the whole "sheep-to-slaughter" attitude befuddles me. I agree with you and your quest. I do not...
I have had the pleasure of seeing John's great images "up close and personal". They have never failed to impress and delight!
Congrats Jon!

Unfortunately. all too often the easy, expedient courses of action only address the symptom. As this thread has shown, the problem is members of this forum that exhibit unacceptable behavior without...
Yes, but you may not get even spacing of the grades without adding some additional filtration to correct the color emitted by the cold light head.

What? You mean that the Can Ham 57 was not Chinese? You never mentioned that! ;)

The Lounge was for other topics. All of this discussion actually should relate to the Lounge and the various incarnations of acceptable postings. But, no! The rantings of the intolerant seem to want...
Thank you Juergen. You post is epitome of my concern. The post demonstrates the exact thinking that I find so repugnant. "Love it or leave it"! What a concept. How unique a philosophy, in this day...
Thank you for explaining. Perhaps an analogy, just, IMO, a poor one. If there is any similarity, IMO, it is dubious, at best.
I have read the responses. I was able to recognize and comprehend...
Sorry, a forum is not a magazine. A forum is not a publication. There is no editorial content, therefore no editorial policy. A forum is, just as the Latin root might suggest, a gathering place to...
My guess would be that Photo Warehouse is probably buying a master roll and having it cut.

From the Photo Warehouse site:
"New Ultrafine Plus films combine over a half century of cutting edge technology applied to the latest state-of-the-art film base, to create a fine grain film that...
Although I respect the continuing efforts of the moderation team, this decision was not necessary. Bookburning by any other name is still bookburning. This action is sad and represents a rather...
