    Re: Dagor 9 1/2 inch f6.8

I use my 9.5 inch Dagor on 8x10 all the time. It's quite lightweight and a nice focal length IMO. The Dagor isn't a soft focus lens but it has nice rendering qualities. On 8x10 I find my problem is...

Re: Cheap carrying solution for Cambo SCX 8x10??

Use a cheap camping foam pad, cut it strategically and instant case that can go inside a pack or other case.

  3. Re: Have you had to pay hefty customs fees when buying from Japan?

US Customs seems to be enforcing existing customs laws a bit more frequently than usual. Case in point you used to be able to simply order Contacts lenses from companies in Canada, no prescription...
  4. Re: LF/ULF contact prints using 35mm enlarger as a controllable light source.

I would use the 35mm enlarger and worry about uneven lighting if it becomes an issue, but I also use a 4x5 enlarger for contact printing without issue. Another bonus for the 35mm enlarger is that...

    Re: DIY Bi-post Connector

Using a molex connector looks like the way to go. I believe you can even get 2 pin molex connectors with the same spacing if you wanted it to look a tad cleaner.
  8. Re: How much should I dilute hydrogen peroxide to remove lens fungus?

It may work or it may not in my experience. Don't expect miracles but if the fungus hasn't been on the lens long enough to etch it, it will help
  9. Re: Zeiss Tessar with 5 fl/aperture scales… Casket set lens?

We shouldn't judge the previous owner. Maybe the Plasmat Satz lens was broken beyond repair or someone lost one of the cells.
  10. Re: Zeiss Tessar with 5 fl/aperture scales… Casket set lens?

Could have been a homebrew casket set why not? People have been doing one-off large format equipment for a long time, in fact they still do see SK Grimes.

    Re: drone mounted 4x5 ?

The next step is automating the action of a Grafmatic so you can take 6 shots in the air instead of one. Just need some more motors perhaps right?

Re: Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar 135mm f4.5

Tessars are sharp but they can have great bokeh. I wouldn't discount it unless you want to go with really low DOF shots. For that you need an Aero Ektar or a fast Petzval.

    Re: "Indirect" plumbing connections

My floor drain goes to the regular sewer. My whole house had the main sewer drain pipe to the city re-done with all the associated digging etc. It was easy to confirm where it goes at that point.
