Sometime you need to make some 16x20 prints. They are a pleasure to your eyes. A digital print cannot compare to them.
I have used a Combi Plan tank for many years (more than 15). That tank, a graduate, termometer, timer and storage bottles for liquids is all that you need.

The tripod mount for my Korona was in similar condition. Instead of drilling a new hole, I put a new threaded brass insert in the hole and filled the remainder of the hole with epoxy. I would have...
You need a shutter release cable that can be locked open. Put the shutter on B, use the cable to trip the shutter and the lock to keep it open. After composing the picture unlock the cable to...
The 300T is a very nice lens. I have had one for about 15 years. The bellows draw at infinity is about 200mm, 8 inches. It is easy to use on view cameras with 300mm bellows. I have had no...
I have a Tachihara 4x5. If the flange to rear end of the barrel of a lens is short enough, the lens can be stored attached to the camera (the lens board has to be reversed). When this camera is...
I have a complete set, August 1988 to present.
I freeze small plastic bottles with 175 ml of stock dektol all of the time. Be sure to remove as much air as possible. It lasts many months. Some of the chemical come out of solution, but heating...
I have a Pentax Spotmeter V that needs to be repaired. Who in the US can repair this light meter?
I have an older version of the Nikkor T*ED 500/360 lens. The shutter on the lens only has scales for the 360mm and 500mm extensions. With the 500mm rear lens attached, it will cover an 8x10...
Congratulations, your life (and bank account) will never be the same. A 4x5 camera and negative is a joy to use. If you ever want to go the 8x10 route, you should place your self in the wacko...
If you develop the prints face down in a tray such lines/scratchs can be formed by sharp points on the surface of the tray. The locations of the scratches on the prints can also change due to the...
It is even faster to: fill the tank and then in the dark, insert the film holder, put the lid on, and then turn on the lights. This method avoids the possibility of developer surge marks on the...
I have a 65 mm SA on a flat lensboard, Toyo AX camera. There is almost no room for movement.
You do not need a recessed board, but you need to tilt the front standard back towards the rear. You can use a lens as wide as 65 mm in this way, but you cannot move the lens around very much. ...
Carry it in an empty 25 sheet box for 4x5 film. Be sure to also pack the proper size small screw driver.
When developer is added to or removed from the CombiPlan tank through the small spout the film is sometimes over developed in the area by the spout. I add and remove the liquids after taking the...
For the 00 shutters, you have to use a cable release with a lock to look throught the lens, put the shutter on B. X,M, and V are for the flash.
Cut a piece of mat board the same dimensions as the 6x7 holder. Mark and cut out a rectangle having the location and dimensions of the "opening" in the back of the film holder. Put the mat board in...
I used some 3" diameter ABS "sewer" pipe and an epoxy to bond it to the lens board. I cut a front cover from Masonite and used some more epoxy to bond it to the pipe. You have to cut out the...
The unicolor 8x10 drum will hold 4 4x5 or 2 5x7 pieces of film. With 4x5 film you need to make sure that the pieces of film do not slide together. Use a thin plastic pinch pin or bend down a corner...
The ground surface of the ground glass faces the lens and the glass is several mm thick. When I use my focusing loupe to focus the picture, am I focusing on the ground surface of the glass or some...
The Toyo 45CF is advertised to have a minimum bellows extension of 80.3 mm. I have an f5.6 75 mm Super-Angulon lens with an advertised flange local length of 82.8 mm. If both of these numbers are...
I have used a D5XL for printing black and white 4x5 negtives for >30 years. They are an excellent enlarger. In fact, I own two of them, but only have dark room space for one.
Mixed Dektol is a very light brown. It sounds like your Dektol was oxidized before it was mixed. It can happen when the dry Dektol has been stored for along time. Usually the bag also become...
It is a diffusion light source. The color filters can be used to print black and white pictures on variable contrast paper. I have used a D5XL for nearly 30 years. They are very good enlargers. I...
Lines like this can be caused by "severely" bending the film when removing it from the holder. If it is dificult to get your finger nail under the film, use a thin blade to separate the film form...
I have a single coated 150mm Fujinon W f6.3 lens that is used for black and white photography. If I take color negatives with this lens, what have I lost in image quality, as compared to using a...
For 8x10 negatives I use Unicolor and Beseler drums that were made for developing color prints. Using a drum roller, I have continuous agitation.

The adds for the 2450 claim it has a 4x9 transparancy adaptor. Is this correct or is it an 8x10 adaptor?
Louis
The Dektol has oxidized and is not usable. Even in the envelope, a small amout of oxygen can enter, and over time, the developer is ruined.
Do any of you have the e-mail address of Bromwell Marketing in Pittsburgh, PA?
Under the lens there is a lock and it can be used to extend the bellows. This is in addition to the round knob used for a fine focus adjustment.
If you have the more recent version of the Aristo...
The Epson 1680 scanner has an attachment that will scan a 4x5 transparency. Do any of you have any comments on using this scanner for 4X5 black and white nega tives?
Thanks,
It sounds like you need to tip the front standard back as far as you can before moving the two standards together. Also, for vertical shots, you may need to tip both standars back to avoid taking a...
If it has a 00 shutter, the only way to keep the shutter open is to use a shutter release cable with a lock. Open the shutter and then use the lock on the cable to keep it open while composing the...
I am looking for the rear horizontal bellows extension rack for a Korona 8x10 camera. Does anyone know of a source for parts for these cameras?
I am the new owner of a Korona 8x10 view camera. It has the number 141 on the w ooden body. Does anyone have an intelligent guess as to it's age?
