Nice work on your site.
I like it!
Seems somehow appropriate to the subject.
As I recall, Foma 100 & 400 are traditional cubic grain films, while 200 is tabular grained. Since you mention TMY, maybe that's why you found Foma 200 to be "special" (qc defects aside).
Could you expand on this? I'm not sure I understand.
The IC doubles as the subject (or plane of focus) comes nearer, which requires greater bellows extension?
I have a 90mm Grandagon N, but...
I've seen a lot of comments casting doubt as to the quality control of the emulsion of the Foma films, as well as the Arista EDU ones, which are rebranded versions of the same stuff.
How is it...
The data I've been able to find shows an image circle of 304mm at f16 and 317mm at f22 for the Commercial Ektar 12" (which I think was intended as a 5x7 lens originally, with the 14" version designed...
-M, -W or -Q version?
Tim,
since it's not a photo safari, and you're there for other reasons, the time and opportunity for photography may be limited. I don't know what you typically like to shoot, or if you prefer...
Been enjoying the 4x5 journey the last few years, and recently found a used 8x10 for a great price.
Have been wondering for a while what I've been missing out on by going with 4x5 instead of...
I have funnel lids and center columns for all of my tanks and lids. They are designed for the ATL1'500 I had that was stolen, but I found it easy to cap them and use for standard hand processing,...
Hmm,
just checked, both of my long tanks are smooth on the inside. I wonder if the ribbed ones are designed with paper in mind. I'll have a look online and see what my options are.
This seems...
I've seen at least one if not several "reels" or holders that hold 2 sheets or so of 8x10 in a 2500 series tank (one of the longer ones, obviously).
Any experience with which seem to work best?

I had one of those and sold it when I moved to the US. It's the Rolls Royce of enlargers. I would definitely pick it up, you can find all the missing bits and get it back to working order, it is the...
Peter, we have the same camera! Another 6008i2 user here :)
Nice to see a fellow Rollei 6008 user.
Having used this as my main camera for almost 2 decades (my how time flies) in Norway (think...
Yes, thanks for the correction.
Monochrome Fan,
another way of thinking of it is like this:
Whatever you point your (reflected) meter at, it will give you the exposure value that you need to make whatever you're pointing it...
This looks amazing, Steve.
Well done, especially considering you've only scratched the surface as you put it.
Looking forward to seeing how things develop! (pardon the pun)
Hope this is the right sub forum, or the mods can move it if not.
I'm trying to streamline my workflow, primarily with medium format, but also 5x4, when it comes to black and white and colour...
Thanks John and Lars for the trip down memory lane. 6 years since I moved to the USA from Norway, and spent some of my childhood in Denmark (Copenhagen) as well, although not at the time you two did....
I like it!
It looks intentional, and offers an interesting perspective on the subject.
Thanks for many great suggestions, I will look into all of them as I plan.
Any thoughts on emulsions (Provia? Velvia? Ektachrome? Portra? Ektar?). Wondering just generally is it more of a pastel,...
I plan to do a road trip down across the Florida Keys mid to late January for between 1 - 2 weeks.
Any suggestions from fellow travelers regarding places to see, most useful focal lengths and...
How tall is she now, 9 years later?
Are these for stereoscopic viewing?
I've never seen the double negatives like this.
Great shot and composition.
Having shot on the Faroe's, I know how lucky (or patient, or both!) you must have been to catch the clouds at a point where they didn't obscure everything, weren't...
Is there a list somewhere of cameras that will work with IR film?
I have a Rolleiflex 2.8D as well as a 6008i system, and a 4x5 LF kit with Toyo holders.
Will these work with IT film? Can I...
Magnolias?
Wonderfully suggestive shot!
I was wondering what decade, or century, this picture was taken. Looks rather old.
Sorry if I wasn't clear before.
When is this from?
You nailed it!
Wonderful composition and tonal range.
I agree with Bernard - I use Rodinal exclusively on everything I shoot (APX100 & Tri-X for the most part in 120 and 4x5 formats), and have never gotten grain like that. That said, it really gives a...
Stunning Merg!
Thanks for all the suggestions. I was able to find both an original vintage adapter with the filter holder as well as a Lee adapter ring that fit it! So double win for me.
Looking forward to...
40 minute exposure, did you use a big stopper or similar, or was it at night?
Great shot, wonderfully delicate tones.
Thanks everyone.
So Kaiser for replacement caps, and go vintage for filters (yes, primarily for B&W contrast adjustment). I did a few searches, but didn't really come up with much. Who are the...
Hi,
I've done some searching here and found a few references to this lens, as well as that it uses Series VIII adapters for what appears to be filter/accessory holders.
Bernice's suggestion to...
At the risk of asking something that may be obvious to the more senior members here, what is a "Jumbo Leica"?
I think the vertical is a tighter, more focused and clean composition. The horizontal is almost always my favorite for landscapes, but in this case I feel the feeder fall serves mainly to distract,...
I'd say the first is the stronger composition, the second has more of a chaotic appeal.
