Using a molex connector looks like the way to go. I believe you can even get 2 pin molex connectors with the same spacing if you wanted it to look a tad cleaner.

It may work or it may not in my experience. Don't expect miracles but if the fungus hasn't been on the lens long enough to etch it, it will help
We shouldn't judge the previous owner. Maybe the Plasmat Satz lens was broken beyond repair or someone lost one of the cells.
Could have been a homebrew casket set why not? People have been doing one-off large format equipment for a long time, in fact they still do see SK Grimes.
The next step is automating the action of a Grafmatic so you can take 6 shots in the air instead of one. Just need some more motors perhaps right?
I had a heavy camera setup on my carbon fiber tripod recently and I just barely averted disaster as I noticed one of the legs was very slowly giving way. I hadn't tightened one of the leg sections...
Tessars are sharp but they can have great bokeh. I wouldn't discount it unless you want to go with really low DOF shots. For that you need an Aero Ektar or a fast Petzval.
Thanks ChatGPT....
My floor drain goes to the regular sewer. My whole house had the main sewer drain pipe to the city re-done with all the associated digging etc. It was easy to confirm where it goes at that point.
I've lived in an old house many years and since I've been here the washer in the basement drains into the floor drain, which drains into the sanitary sewer. It's not an ideal setup but it works fine...
I just got done developing a few rolls with a 1L kit. It seems to have worked great. I did do a wash step before the stabilizer step and went on the high side for the bleach step. Easy to mix and...
For backpacks / remote hiking in particular I always feel like there should be a way to turn my trekking poles into tripod legs. I know there are a few products out there but nothing compelling,...
Garden of the Gods is already a wilderness, seems like it should become a national park too if the Shawnee was. I remember both locations being pretty amazing to visit photography wise.
A fast Tessar really is the way to go. For example, a Gundlach Radar Anastigmat 12 inch 4.5 is basically the same speed as this aero lens, is fairly common and inexpensive and usually comes in a...
Extraordinary that they could even predict a solar eclipse in 1854, we don't give the technology of the time as much credit as it deserves.
OP already has a replacement bellows, they just don't want to use them. Kind of like when you have a pair of tired old boots you just can't let go off.
A contact cement or even shoe goo might be more effective at repairing a bellows like that. You'd probably have to remove the bellows to do it properly though and at that point just put the new ones...
There are probably no actual journalists now, just "AI" along with an intern who doesn't know good text from bad text.
It's no TF5 but it works for me: https://www.digitaltruth.com/data/formula.php?FormulaID=156
Aperture blades are really quite simple but for most of us rank amateurs it still takes a few hours to get it right. I heard the women working in the factory could assemble the blades in all of 5...
Ilford Delta 3200 in a roll film back. Ok cheating, but it's the best currently on the market for this.
Thanks for confirming! I was on the fence about ordering one without finding any reviews.
I always found a bamboo skewer works perfectly and seems pretty safe since wood is softer than metal.
Pulling out the Pentax 6x7 600mm on an African Safari jeep sure would be .. something.
I don't see how you could use one of those and not jostle the camera. It might be better to spend a bit more lunch money on the Silvestri Camera replacement. It sounds promising but I haven't pulled...
I ran out of TF-5 so I mixed up so TF-3. It's not a bad alternative- doesn't seem to stink as much as I remember it and it can be mixed easily if you have Ammonium Thiosulfate on hand, which is a bit...
Also at the risk of being excommunicated I might suggest taking a small "Bridge" digital camera that has Image stabilization and the ability to zoom way in for Wildlife shots and a smaller Medium...
It might time to ask instead how to fabricate new shutter leafs. And ya the gear train...
I've heard unexposed E-6 film can be used as a Infrared filter? Or is it UV filter? In any case there must be better ways to filter UV/Infrared light these days.
Why does it need to be color? Could you just use a sheet of fixed out X-ray film?
I'm guessing this is for carbon fiber tripods that get really "crunchy" if you get sand and muck in them. You really have to fully extend them and rinse them like you would a modern trekking pole...
Contact frames are usually bigger than the Plate/film size to accomodate the paper. Especially back then when they were using older processes like Salt printing / Carbon where a border, non-coated...
The early 203mm Ektar's and probably similar Optars were notorious for having a very soft coating that scratched easily. There is no practical way to repair this, I would leave it as it as, the...
Just posting I made one of these camping foam cases, slightly modified for my needs so I could safely put my 8x20 Korona into the Granite Gear Traditional pack. The Granite Gear pack is perhaps...
I think i once heard that Ansel worked in the darkroom tirelessly unless he was sick. And apparently he was sick a lot from drinking too much the night before..
Cine Meter II on iOS. It costs a bit of money unlike the free ones, but it seems fairly accurate.
The Reveni Labs meter is a really neat idea. Unfortunately I find it to finicky use and I end up just using my phone spot meter app because it's easy. Laziness wins the day in the end.
That is true, the inputs just save 230V so maybe I would just need a transformer to convert 120V to 230V with enough wattage.
I have an Eastman View Camera No 33A that takes 4.5" square boards. Not a common size, but I sort of like it for this camera. You can mount bigger lenses than you normally could for the size of the...
LEDs don't seem to work well with DAS unless you design a complex multi-spectrum LED system anyways. LEDs emit a tiny spectrum of UV in my experience and it ends up hurting contrast overall and...
