I suspect it's Luca we're welcoming, not Lucas. My guess is his surname is Spennato. Enjoy the resource, Luca.
I'm not aware that Pan F was ever available in sheets. Was it at one point and, if so, how old are the sheets you're using?
Fifteen months later, any updates Barry?
I've had an old-fashioned answer machine on our old-fashioned copper landline for almost as long. Anyone we want to hear from is aware they must "speak to the machine" and, if we're home, we'll pick...
Ain't caller ID great?
Possibly a very good suggestion. I recently pulled my Epson P600 out of a closet after reading about the Dmax of Canson Arches 88. Not quite perfect, but could be high enough. I might put my Canon...
Protectan was a Tetenal product that, as best I can determine, has not been picked up by any other manufacturer after Tetenal's bankruptcy. I recently researched alternatives for use with...

"...nothing compares to a condenser print...
Yes, they way they reproduce dust, scratches and other defects is incomparable. No wonder those Adams and Sexton prints are so bad. They used/use...
Note, ADOX has denied that its "speed boost technology" is pre-exposure, while not stating what else it might be. :)
I have. It doesn't. Even at a "whole plate" print size, one can see softening at the extreme corners. I've since settled on a 150mm f/8 Apo-Germinar W to enlarge 4x5 negatives.
The only developer I ever used with Lupex was ADOX's own MCC Developer. Results were remarkably neutral without toning. Unfortunately, It's currently out of stock at both Freestyle and FOTOIMPEX.

I predict significant fog. Even if stored away from radioactive granite, which makes TYM's propensity for fogging even worse. Good luck!
Having never tried that semi-matt version before, I recently bought a box and made some prints on it. It's a really ugly surface, with none of the advantages of, say, Bergger's semi-glossy finish...
Leigh is no longer alive.
Andy, the warm tone on that XTOL negative isn't a result of the developer being old. Both negatives are of relatively high density. XTOL has always given warm tones in high density areas. It's...
Interesting. I hadn't gone to the Chamonix page recently and didn't know its 4x5 holder are now plastic. When Riteway 4x5 holders had similar dark slide interlocks, they weren't compatible with...
I checked years ago; it was 7.8 lb. "naked" with the original ground glass and without the ground glass protector. I've a Kirk quick release plate attached that has a ribbed rubber pad, which I...
Chamonix's Alpinist X has a reversible back:

Scroll down a bit to see it. That's the version Ben Horne is using now.
I replaced...
Originally, B&H listed this sale as "expiring December 31, 2023." A day or so later, the price hadn't changed, but that note was gone. As of today, B&H still has 12 boxes at the discounted price,...
I don't know the brightness or spectral characteristics of that app on your phone. I'm lucky enough to have a Zone VI Compensating Development Timer. I place its probe in the water jacket tub my...
Additionally, while many seem to complain about that size, it is in reality a significant advantage with the shorter focal lengths if one regularly uses filters. Other brands tended to make their...
I have multiple 2509n reels and Jobo tanks they fit in. Those marks appeared no matter what variation of agitation I tried. My solution was to purchase a number of HP Combiplan T tanks and set them...
In that case you need five dots per holder. One of a color that indicates the film type on each side of the dark slides' pull handles and a white dot to indicate "unexposed" on only one side of each...
There are so many chances for tolerances in camera backs, holders and film flatness to accumulate in the wrong direction that I wouldn't put them there. The link you provided indicates those dots...
Why would you put it there? The dark slide orientation is the only thing that changes when a sheet is exposed. Marking the holder itself would tell nothing about exposure status. Unless you're...
When I worked with Hugo to get Chamonix into whole plate, he accommodated my suggestion that the holders' dark slides have white dots on one side of their protruding pulls. I've no idea whether they...
Wet prints are why I just bought a 45mm f/2.8 Nikkor PC-E for my F6. The bonus is it's also usable on my D810 for scenes where depth of field challenges require tilt and non-static subjects make...
Nope. HARMAN makes Bergger paper, but it's never been involved with PANCRO 400. The latter was coated by then-Inoviscoat.
Hi Bob. I've also recently set up a three-tank Combinplan-T line per Eugene Singer's article and, despite replacing washers on the valves with ones you recommended some time ago, occasionally have...
No change in the six months since I replied to this thread. Inkjet prints I've made up through ones on 13x19 paper, whether stored in boxes or taped to backer mat board, under a window mat and...
Did you order any, John? If so, what was the expiration date on the film you received?
Multiple threads on forums included images of the bad packets; all said "Made in Germany." I conclude PSI was not involved with those, and that Sino Promise transferred production to PSI as part of...
The thread title is "Foma classic 131 VC FB matte - Print color", yet you're comparing its surface shine to "glossy" papers. Do you mean that even the Ilford and Bergger matte papers are shinier...
Because of a response in this thread? Don't even think about it. Your contribution was fine. Keep it up.
Bryan!

I have no dog in this fight. I don't sell photography and, other than a short time doing weddings on the side while a student in the early 1970s, never have. I also don't pay any attention to...
Nope. Dictionaries are the arbiters of meaning. Rationality cannot be dispensed with. Unless one is pontificating about "art." :D
