^^ Right on!! I don't use feeBay or Pay-me-Pal. In fact, I have no credit cards either. I hate all CC companies and those that revolve thier business around them.

That's better than being married again!! ;) :D
OT: Hey, Michael, how did you mod the front standard to accept flat wooden boards?
If I could only have one lens to start with for landscape it would be a 135 because that would allow me to continue putting my favorite combo together as I can afford to buy more lenses... 90, 135,...
I have ten various solenoid activated shutters pulled from repro cameras and a dozen controllers. Most of them are larger (some much larger) than the one at SS. However, I don't have the time right...
I've dedicated my 4x5 to shooting 6x12cm roll film only. Mostly landscape.
38 SA XL
58 SA XL
90 f/8 SA
135 Apo Symmar
210 Graphic-Kowa (double duty for 8x10)
300 Fujinon-C (double duty for...
I have Super Graphics for sale in anyone is interested.
LightJacket and +6 reading glasses.
Who is this "least favorite seller"? :)
The Chammy will FOCUS a 38 SA XL to infinity with a flat board and with the standard bellows. For movements you'll need a bag bellows and a recessed board. BUT... a 38 SA XL has no movements to...
The Chammy will focus a 38mm SA XL @ infinity on a flat board with the standard bellows... I've done it. With the 100mm rail extension it will focus a Fuji 450-C to 20+ feet.
Upgrade to a Maxwell screen and use +6 reading glasses instead of a loupe.
No... that's chinaritis!!
As Al said... You can probably find a complete holder in nice condition for what one dark slide will cost... or just a little bit more. Then you'll have an extra slide plus other spare parts. :)
I bought a used Chamonix 45N-1 and am having a new Maxwell screen professionally installed to deal with the focus issue. It'll be a darned fine camera once I have it back in my hands.
UPS is VERY pricey out of the CONUS. Compare with USPS.
30.4? Can't you be more precise than that?? :D
Will do, JT. It'll be probably 2-3 weeks before mine is returned. Please post again in this thread to reminde me. My brain is quite feeble these days and I may forget!! :)
Yup... think of this. LF photographers "chimping" for the best shot. What has this world come to? :D
SShhh... don't tell the folks on APUG!! :p
Great idea and I have another thread proposing such an idea... or maybe I just posted in a thread... my feeble brain is half gone. At any rate, the proposed solution is to carry a small ~7" digital...
8x10?? I'm jealous as hell!! :)
Look for a Negaflat film holder in good condition. They are the best!! :) Oh... and a cold light head. :D
^^^ I disagree particularly if we're discussing 4x5 or larger. :) And "medium format" digital is still just too pricey. :(
Are you going to have it done or did you already?
And don't forget you can bracket... take one exposure for enhanced shadow detail and another to retain uncompressed highlight detail... the two can be merged for best overall detail in PS. This is...
Thanks, Vinny. That's a good idea but time is too important to me right now. I can't afford to be tinkering at the moment. I just need things to work straight out of the box. :)
That's a complete rip-off. A flat envelope couldn't cost more than $3US including the envelope.
Hey there, Don. :)
Once I have my setup up and running I'll set out to prove you wrong. Perhaps I'll step in my own muck but I really don't think so. Tweaking mid-tones, as with highlight and...
I bought a used 45N-1 despite the little focusing error with the expectation of replacing the focus screen with a Maxwell. After a very informative telephone conversation with Bill Maxwell I opted...
No one knows? I already asked badger... the person I spoke to didn't know either. :(
No offense but not looking the same doesn't necessarily mean not looking as good. It depends on what you do in post processing in PS.
As per the title...
^^^ Then what you need is one of the "micro" versions though they aren't much smaller than the Linhof finder and perhaps larger. Also, the problem with some of the mini and micro versions seems to...
There is a 1/4" mount underneath the leather handle/grip.
The problem is weeding out the junk from the decent ones... and at affordable prices.
$5 brand new?? Holy Toledo... I didn't know they we that cheap!!
I have a genuine 57mm Schneider cap for sale. $15 shipped CONUS lower 48.

Maybe I'll give it a try. I've heard the small Cavision is a real dog but maybe the Opteka is better.
Looks interesting... do you think it's worth the $100 risk to find out if it's any good? :)
What I want is a Director's Viewfinder with adjustable aspect ratios and long-range zoom that can accept a .5x W/A adapter and costs around $300 or less. The $600-700 ones are out of the running.
