Thanks Randy!
I haven't been here in quite a while. I have had so much work, I'm thinking about selling my Chamonix 4x5 and my Sinar 4x5 but I can't find the F/S section...
I love this...I caught my eye and made me want to look at it!
WOW, beautiful shot and persrective!
Austin, when was this taken? Soon after the eruption?
Thanks for the info!!!
Thanks Peter.
I found a Kardan-color 8x10 thta looks like a beautiful camera but it also looks very heavy...Does anyone know what one of the cameras weighs? Are they a nice as they look?
These are great points...things you only realize after you either make the jump $$$$ or ask this type question of people who you know are real photographers.
Thanks!!!
I have looked at some suppliers websites and they sell green carbon transfer tissue. What is this? is it the paper you make your print on?
Thanks for the great responses!
Thanks John, your answer does help.To search this forum requires that you first know what to search for. If you don't know what the real advantages and disadvantages are then you just get a bunch of...
I have only shot 4x5 to this point but have developed a case of 8x10 GAS...For those of you that have experience with both 4x5 and 8x10 can you help me out???
I know with 8x10 I can make contact...
I have had several 4x5 cameras and by far my Chamonix 45 F2 is my favorite. Sturdy and very easy to work with. I bought mine used here on this forum and it was "like new". I have had several tripods...
Thanks Greg for that!
That book does look like a great resource...but it is not cheap!
I have been shooting 4x5 for a few years. I have always used traditional paper when I enlarge my negatives. I have seen an "alternative process" that looks like you brush on a light sensitive...
I love these "xray type" shots!!!
Thanks for the link. There were some others also. I have tried searching, "cutting xray film" , using xray flim, cutting 8x10 xray film and a few others but no real good results. There was a thread...
I have done several searches but cannot find a thread on the method to cut 8x10 xray film to 4x5.
I am almost sure I read one hear???
Very interesting! I like it a lot. Is it possible for you to give a few details???
I took a look at the bellows and they seemed to be in very good condition. I didn't expand them to inspect but did give them a quick look over.
Curious as to how you mounted and released the Mamiya lens? I shoot an RB67 so I have several of these wonderful lenses and have thought it would be fun to try to use them on a LF camera!
Ben, agian you have captured an image that is "believeable". It doesn't look overly "posed" or contrived. Wonderful shot and excellent work by the model too!
WOW this image is really striking. She looks as though you surprised her. I love nude photography that has a more natural look in the pose and setting. This image fits those criteria for me. There...
Sergei, You have shared so many wonderful portraits of your wife! I have admired and wished I could make such beautiful images! I am wishing and praying for the very best!
I don't think so but it had a "Deardorff" tagged lensboard and the was also an extra lensboard I think???
I don't shoot ULF, I'm a 4x5 guy, but I was in Wings Camera in Atlanta yesterday just looking and saw they had a super nice Deardorff 11x14 studio camera. It looked to be in excellent condition! I...
Wow this tulip shot is amazing! It does have an old 30s-40s look to it!
I used to play "Strip Backgammon" with a girlfriend...
Nana, all of these shot are wonderful. The lighting and pose of this model in particular caught my eye. I love 6x7 format and have a prized RB67. I bought a Pentax 67 that seemed wonderful but there...
Would any of the common "light" meters be able to give the "K" value of the light in a given scene?
I have just finished a remodel of my violin shop and the "T5" florescent bulbs give off a strange...
Thanks for the info!
I have finally got the darkroom project to the point I am ready to paint it. I have worked in darkrooms that were black and darkrooms that were a "normal" color like eggshell or off white. I was not...
I agree with Stone! It is easy to find on line...I wanted to find someone in Atlanta. I have done the google thing as my first step.
I really like this shot. Lighting a round glas object can be tricky and you did a great job with it. I have done the light blubs thing too as a study. It helped me learn several things.
I really like this shot! RB and IR combo is terrific!
This is one of the best threads I have read in awhile. Maybe because I have thinking about doing this myself. I have traveled, for business, alone for years and being able to sit as long as I choose...
I wish I had seen this post sooner. I would have met you there. I have shot there several times both LF and MF.
In April I am hoping to see if we can get a LF group started in Atlanta. I am suprised...
