    I missed out on the first night of northern lights. Whenever I checked, it was raining....Went out last night, but I couldn't see anything. Tried to use my Tamron 35mm on my Z9 via an FTZII...

    But as far as a pictorial strategy, I don't know....I like the no-pre-exposure image better. All of these contrast reducing methods tend to kill mid-tone...

    Looks like light source fall off. Try scanning in two strips, centering each one on the light source and then stitching together.

    Tip: try to have one tripod leg going forward. It's very easy to bump one if it's situated between your feet.

    Daniel, I wish I had on of those and an 8x10 Sinar back.... I use a Sinar 4x5 back on that camera, as that allows the bino viewer.
