Thanks Roger. Sounds like it may just be do-able. Now then, I'm curious on the big Copal units; 5.6 of what?? 5.6 of 2.95 would be a 16.5" lens. If you're working with a 240mm lens is there a...
John, I just measured my 11.5 Verito. The glass area matches the math. 4 into 11.5 gives 2 7/8" glass area and that's exactly what I measured. So can someone who has one of these big Copal's...

Made with a modified Wolly Velostigmat 7 1/2" wide open.
With big lenses that will give you the effect you're wanting remember that the size of the Sinar Copal will act as a choke. So if the glass area of the Verito is 2.85 inches, and you use a shutter...
There's a sermon illustration in there somewhere. I just have to mine it out. ;~'))
Beautiful and interesting. Why do you think they are invisible to the emulsion? Do you have a color snapshot from the phone or something to compare how our eyes see them compared to the collodion?
Here's a similar one in Keeler Ca. turned into a roadster.

Hard not to like this! Not only the truck which is very wonderful, but matching people!

An imperfect plate. I have some bad film. The dust isn't "dust" it's an emulsion problem.

Beautiful Howard. I like the ones in the basket even better.

Thanks! It was made with a new-2-me pre-WWII Ilex 15 3/4" Paragon Anastigmat with diffusion control similar to the more common Wollensak Velostigmat. I need to do a little "write up" on it with...
Thanks Dave. I have a large body of work over many years that I title together called "work ethic"

Beautiful all!
No idea on ages or how long they were catalogued. Mine has the bigger wood knobs on everything. Also the shaft on mine goes all the way from side to side so that both knobs turn when it's rolling...
Made it back upstairs. 32 pitch. I'd err on the side of too many teeth not too few or diameter might be shy enough for it to "skip".
I’ll work on it tomorrow. Too cold t go back upstairskr
I concur, 1935 Airflow. Interesting cars in many ways. Excellent image.

The best advice so far. Unsubscribed.
Model A Ford, of course! Preferably a woody station wagon, but a Roadster will do if you're by yourself.
If you have 2 cameras next to each other, a 3¼X4¼ with a 90mm lens and an 11X14 with a 300mm lens would you meter different? They both are seeing the same image. f8 on the little camera little lens...
Is the lensboard area 9" or 10" square?

That lens has a wonderful look to it! Nicely done!
I wouldn't try to develop on the go. I think I have a few empty 4X5 film boxes around the place. One smart thing to do is label empty boxes, reg dev. +1 dev. -1 dev. etc, and download your films...
I fiddled with this years ago. They are such fine lenses. The 127 4.7 should also cover. The 250 being a true tele-photo does not. Nor does the 75 f5.6 or either of the 105's.
Again! That quote was from 2011! Where does the time go. So many Verito's so little time . . .
Some images made last evening using the 10A Studio camera and the lovely 11" "ABS" Verito with...
Thanks Jim!
Here is the final image that didn't make it into the JOBO on the first goat rope. First is a re-post so the comparison will be handy. Wide open vss stopped down just a little bit....
Good 'ol boys ~ dogs ~ beer . . . it's a Merl Haggard song.
A beautiful image. Usually to get edge swirl there has to be stuff like tree branches out beyond the focused plain. Things roughly in or near the plane of focus don't swirl much.
OK, the big reveal. All four of you. The lens is a 15" Wollensak Telephoto with the rear group removed and the front facing the film. Cost me $63 bucks with shipping and tax. Don't you love paying...
Thanks! Made my day
You may be onto something. The one lens that got us into trouble out at work when we sent it to re-app (it was tripping their meters because of rare earth glass) was a Wollensak similar to this one...
