Nice image Martin! - Reminds me of 1950's style fashion photos (Lilian Bassman comes to mind) - except there's no clothing involved here:)
There was a post about TF2 - got me wondering about potential benefits of TF4 / TF5
I process HP5/FP4 in DDX & use a water stop bath & Ilford rapid fix
(On rare occasion use Tmax or Foma film)
...
I don't remember the exact details, but it had something to do with automating steps..self cocking? Quicker to use, if I recall. Never used one so don't know anything except what I recall...
I've had backing paper issues with cold stored Fuji NPH.
I recently shot a roll of tmax100 (120 roll film) I had frozen in my freezer since 2001.
Processed normally. It was perfectly fine!
Would love to hear more details, as I always thought this process to be more archival/stable.
I also value your informative posts and answers!
Very good. Looking forward to seeing your scanner set up!
Love it. Would love to see it printed as well!
I do the same. I tried finding those adapter bought one online and did not fit! Prob will eventually go the SK Grimes route.
That's great you could revisit those negatives and print them well. Sometimes it's worth looking at old contact sheets and discovering an image that we may have overlooked or can be printed better...
I had my fp4 BTZS tested for me.
The only issue is I don't use the individual tubes, but process in a Jobo - so I end up with a bunch of different development times & lose the benefit of being able...
Excellent explanation!
Nice. I find those pro mist filters can add a nice touch to an image.
I was thinking of trying one.
Good appraisal Mark!
Something of value & appreciation in using vintage gear.
There is also the Ritter 8x10 - a very light camera...around 6lbs if I recall.
Yes ventilation! I am pretty sure I got a dry eye condition from a poorly (non existent) ventilated darkroom:(
I finally have my new sink in place and doing the plumbing next.
Debating about whether I should incorporate a water filter?
I am on city water - so its pretty good (unless there is a main break)....
Presently dev in Jobo & scanning to print.
Have been working to get my darkroom up and running again with a larger sink finally in place and new 4x5 enlarger in place - so I get get back to...
My monitor is way too old - great to get info like this.
Thanks fopr posting:)
Serge
Holiday greetings to all!
I've used Foma 100 - like the tones - bought a couple of boxes of Foma 400 to try.
Issue - I don't like with that film is little imperfections (occasionally) in the...
Looks good!
I ordered a pro pack of Tmax 100 in November
& when I received it & looked at the expiration date it was for November - not technically expired, but it now:)
I was a bit surprised.
Very Nice Vaughn.
I love working around water!
I get that with Foma film, usually not an issue with Ilford or Kodak.
Also - sometimes it may shift in the film holder.
You can tap the holder to settle/right the film I think...
Yes – that always makes an impression, times were much more formal. Fedoras are gone also. Often wonder how the world will look like in another 50 years.
What an innovative camera the Norma is,...
Hello Kellyann,
You can order bellows directly from Linhof.
Good luck with your project.
You should be fine if you take your time.
Serge
Just shoot with it and see if it works for you.
You may find you like it:)
Thanks Drew.
You are probably right, as we are on Lake Champlain - one of the largest fresh water lakes in the United States:)
Hi Drew,
Thanks for the caulking recommendations.
Good to know I need to wait about a week before paint.
Prime also after sealant right?
I found the Sikaflex at Lowes.
Sika White Fast...
A few observations....and ramblings:)
I've never used 8X10 but admire the portrait work I have seen in that format. Weight being an issue for me I settled on 4x5 as I like the aspect ratio. Since...
Hi Drew,
Thanks for the detailed information on marine coatings. In the research I did read West System type epoxies & similar seem to be a proven choice but unfortunately, I am trying to avoid...
Excellent.
Thanks for the quick response & photo.
It is instructive to see you faucet set up...something Will need to address next.
My wood sink is complete.
Thinking of using rustoleum marine topside enamel paint - has anyone used this product?
Thanks!
Hi Bob,
Thanks for posting.
When I get my darkroom finally up & running, I will try your method.
Possibly museum glass would help, as it is coated on both sides with an anti reflection coating?
Thanks for the clarification John.
I guess each approach as trade offs.
Thanks for the details.
Hi John,
Do you suppose it is some sort of focus shift?
Prob no effect in practical terms, as others on the board would have noted discrepancies in their prints.
It's interesting to hear though.
