    Some questions on Petzval lenses

I am very interested in the 'bokeh' effect on portraits produced by Petzval lenses.
I came across the following lenses and I don't know if they are Petzval design and how is the character of these lenses. Like to have you sharing your experience with me, thank you very much in advance.

    1.Cooke Portrait Anastigmat 101/2inch, f/4.5 Series llE

    2.Voigtlander Collinear No.7, F/6.3, Series ll

    3. Cooke Portrait 13inch f/5.6 Series Vl

    Thanks

no, no, and no again. Triplet; collinear = variation on dagor; triplet.

A little self-help is in order. Buy a copy of A Lens Collector's Vade Mecum and study it. It contains answers to many, not all, questions of the type you just asked. The person who posts here as CCHarrison sells the VM. Its not expensive.

    Hi Dan

Thank you very much for the tip !!

BTW, I am wondering if anyone has some photos taken with any of those lenses so that I could have a reference.

    cheers

The Cooke Series VI, though an anastigmat, not a Petzval, has a control for diffusion, and the bokeh resulting from its use has pleased many viewers
