This would have been a great shot had I not used a polarizer.

The corn is high in Indiana - sweet corn?
Thomas
Hi Thomas. It is high, well above head height. I don't know which variety of corn this is.
The weather has been very warm in central Indiana in the past few weeks. I drove north into Michigan a few days ago, and the corn was half as high. I'm not a farmer, so don't know if the height difference was due to species, weather, timing or other influence.
Sweet corn, which is appearing in the grocery stores right now, is harvested early summer. Field corn, which you find in your corn flakes or gas tank, is harvested around the beginning of fall when the ears have dried out. I'm not a farmer either so I guess that it could be either sweet or field corn depending on when it is harvested. A bottle (or 2) of cold Grain Belt sounds good for this afternoon.
