Thanks chassis/sheel. Unfortunately this negative (and the b&w one) aren't good for much more than 8x10 because it's front-focused a bit and soft past the midground at larger sizes. I wasn't really planning on shooting landscapes that day and so had my big ol' Biogon, which the Chamonix can't really handle and so the weight of the lens made the focus drift .

It looks like you were out there around October, as well, sheel. Those shots of Valley View look a lot like what I saw, only better.

Love that positive, Bryan. Just picked up a Nikkor SW 75mm f4.5 and can't wait to try it out on my Chamonix 45-F1.

That cold lake is excellent. Lovely water, reminds me of still mornings in the Adirondacks. And i love all those leaf less trees.

Thomas That is some lovely light on the mountain. sorry you didn't get the stillness you were after but it still looks lovely. Well printed and toned.

Corran, I like the color version very much as well.

Thanks Kenny! Yes, I was out there around 10/22 - it was amazing to see the fall colors in Yosemite. Although, I do wish there was more density of color/trees.

I had a few other shots from the Merced on Velvia that I totally overexposed (+2-3 stops) - expensive lesson ... see below.

Can't wait to see your shots on the 75mm. I have a Rodenstock 75mm, but haven't found a good use for it yet - 75mm is insanely wide.

I was out there from 10-21 thru 10-25! A pity we couldn't have gotten together, sheel. By the time I left, the big leaf maples in the valley and along the river were just gorgeous. I should've spent some more time down there instead of doing what I did but don't regret it. There's always next year.

Ah man, we were there at the exact same time - I arrived 10/22 and left 10/24 for Sequoia National Park! I did see someone with a 4x5 at Tunnel View on the evening of 10/22, around 5:30pm just before sunset, heading back to his car. The camera looked like it may have had a cambo reflex hood on it. Would that have been you??

Would be fun to meet some local film/large-format shooters.

The best colors/foliage I saw were the Maple's near the entry of the valley, at Valley View. Absolutely stunning along the Merced. I'm bummed I overexposed those Velvia shots.

Here's one I just dev'd last night on Ektar.

    Sinar Norma 4x5
    Kodak Ektar 100
    Fujinon SW 90mm F8
