So jealous! Man I can't wait for mine. I was hoping I would be the first to strobe the thing haha. :-)
That's one M2 flashbulb not a strobe.![]()

Yes, David shot with this Heiland Foto-Mite flashbulb holder, M2 bulb and Travelwide camera. http://www.largeformatphotography.in...=1#post1270585
I was at least 2 stops slow. GN 320 shot at 1/25th X sync f32 at 5 feet. I need to open up to f16. More testing!

Hi Ben,
I installed my 90mm Raptor hand tight, no tools. Mounted camera on tripod outside, looked for infinity focus on GG center which I found hard to do with my naked eye. So I grabbed a thread counter loupe, focused on a distant high voltage wire center of GG. Then, it took me a few moments to realize the genius of your rubber focus grip, which is easily removed and replaced on the 'splines' to make the notch align with infinity mark.
Then I did the same thing inside at 5 and 25 ft on a brightly lit USAF focus chart. And marked the actual helical positions.
So yes, I now have 3 known zones of fine focus. Then we come into hyper-focal estimations which aren't that big of deal. Setting the helical at 10 ft, gave me good focus from 5ft to infinity.
This shot was done that way, handheld on a slightly swaying bridge, notice the wood handrail 4 ft away bottom right. # No sharpening done. 1/100th @ f32 HP5. #2 PS Blur sharpen which looks terrible at 100% PS view but works at small magnification.

Randy those are so cool! Thanks for sharing your process on focusing too. You are making this camera shine for all its intended purposes.
May need to get one myself when I can get my hands on it!

I know this must be annoying to those who do not yet have their camera, but at least 16 people in Chicago also have this camera, so I will carry on.
Minimized my outfit by using an AGFA BC flashbulb holder. Because of it's battery box it sits beside sports finder.
Changed lens to 90mm f6.8 Calter II-S and sighted in more carefully, at 3, 5 feet and infinity and marked locations with white gaff.
I shot these 2 handheld, the tripod was for sighting in.
HP5 scanned as color neg, the muted colors are close to actual and not manipulated by me. No sharpening, no adjustments, no spotting, as scanned. Shot at estimated 3 feet across bar, Blue color M3B flashbulb, @ f16, 1/8th second, X sync.
