I hope you share the specifics of your pinhole construction. Obviously we need the diameter, but I am also interested in the type of material used, thickness, boring method and any other hole prep done such as taper or whatever.

Now you have all our attention!

Patience is such a LF virtue.

Honestly, I'm a rank newbie to 4x5 pinhole, but I immediately understand the appeal. The Pinwide has been such a temperamental, expensive, difficult part. But I think it will be worth all the pain in the end. We really want to ship this camera with something people can use to make an image, even if they're still searching for a lens.

I'm not big into pinhole myself, I've already got my Schneider 90mm f/8 ready to go, but after seeing your last uploads, I might get into the entire pinhole thing.

Glad for all the extras. But I want my camera already. Heh. Seems like after we all supported the fabrication of a basic 4x5 handheld camera, a ton of additions from someone's wish list has led to multiple delays.

I can't help but remember the original estimated date for this camera to be shipped. It was supposed to be December 2013 for those who can't remember that far back.

With that said, looking forward to getting mine. Everything looks great and I'm glad to be a supporter.

As someone who bought on the last wave on their own site, but can't look at the kickstarter blog because I didn't buy there on kickstarter, I have not got the foggiest idea what you all are talking about or so excited about, nor, probably, do the other 4000 or so people reading this thread.
Thanks, but I'd rather just watch:

I am fully in support of this project and am looking forward to receiving my camera, but I have to say I agree with this. The price was extremely fair for what it started out to be.

Ah well, more feature bloat. Basic quality goods are not enough anymore.

Sorry about that. But there's nothing we can do about that.

Suffice to say, tests of the pinhole exceeded expectations, and everything has either been delivered or is in production.

Wayne-- I don't think they added anything that wasn't promised up front. I think the Chompy was the only stretch goal and that hasn't held up the project. It was basic stuff like getting the helical friction correct and getting good quality pieces out of the mold that delayed the project. Most people would probably rather wait the extra time and get a quality product than get a camera with a bunch of problems, but as scheduled.

This is not fair. They have planned to include these from the very beginning, and I can't think of a single feature that was added. I am very likely backer number 1, but I guess I'm more patient than some.

Sheesh! Don't get so touchy. Your humor meter is seriously defective.

If you are backer #1 then I am probably backer #3. Everybody is being patient. You are not the only one in the world who fully understands the vagaries of bringing a prototype to market.

I was being facetious. I guess next time I'll have to send you a PM before I post.

Michael, you should sign up for our mailing list! As of this last update, we're posting the same information to Kickstarter backers and mailing list subscribers, so no one feels left out.

Hopefully the updates show how close we are. Once you all get your Travelwides, I think you'll be glad we didn't rush it. Thanks to everyone for being so patient, even though I know what all of our inner Homer Simpsons are saying:
