    WOW!!!! This is absolutely FANTASTIC!!!!

I would actually buy this (and I don't buy any photos from anyone...) I won't because I'm not rolling in it... But I'm just saying this is really really strikingly beautiful.

How about you just tell me what time of year this was taken and the location and I'll go make my own shot, I promise I'll change the framing haha

I use ilford Delta100 but use Rodinal not Xtol so it will be different

Ha! December 31st, Grand Marais Minnesota municipal campground shoreline, Lake Superior, -15 degrees fahrenheit, about 45min before sunset, evanescent ice conditions.

    Good luck to you!

Oh I did that too!! -15 degrees at the.... South? Rim of the Grand Canyon in January at 5am for the sunrise... Brrr out there for almost 2 hours.

I can't show images as they were shot with my Mamiya7 but they are Velvia50 and colorful

Yeah, it gets a bit chilly no doubt, especially if there's wind. Good times. Sounds like an ideal morning to work with a Mamiya7 rather than a large format camera. Large format is certainly doable under subzero temps (-25 F is about the coldest I've dealt with), but I don't think I'd describe it as "fun" at that point. Thankfully the images tend to be exciting when it gets that cold.

    Hah! Last OT comment.

At least with LF you get to be under a nice warm cloth haha

Of course you have to hold your breath or you fog the glass...

And you would think it would be better with the Mamiya 7 but this is actually what got me into LF... The Mamiya 7's batteries get too cold at those temps and give out on you...

Try unscrewing a battery door and replacing a tiny battery in -15 degrees with no gloves on to get the tiny battery door back on... Yea... Not fun... So it's LF for me now in cold temps if it's a good setup, but the Mamiya 7 with good tight grain film is almost as good as LF... Love that glass!

Johnmsanderson, well done those photographs of exactly the same place. The railways brightness of the second one are perfect for me.

Finarphin, I like very much the shadows on the stones. It remember the Ansel style. Well done!

Ken, verticals and textures are so good, and volumen composition too.

WoW!! Joel, it's a stunning landscape with all! I never get tired of seeing that. Congratulations.

Make sure and enter that photo in this year's State Fair. With the brutal winter we had I think everyone would really enjoy seeing it.
