Well, I'm an old timer, too, and I've seen many original prints made by the people you referred to in your post, especially those made by Saint Ansel. If I recall correctly, very many of Ansel's landscape images have no 'hand-of-man' or animals or people in them. Personally, I choose to not have animals, people, or other 'hand-of-man' elements in my photographs unless those elements are integral to what I am trying to express.
I'd like to hear what others have to say in reply to your comment.
I'll definitely continue to 'enjoy the adventure'.
