Note, too, that adding a general location to one's profile is also an option, which would solve the seller-location issue, and be helpful with other interactions, as well.
PM sent, Milton.
Which browser are you using, Milton? We've had reports of problems with Chrome. Personally, I'm a long-time Firefox user.
Try again. It's working for me just now, so it may have been a transitory error.
We don't cull posts, but, over the years, we've had a couple of system crashes where a few records have been lost.

Note: Oren responded to your question in a PM. If you still have questions, you should reply to that PM.

The default presentation of the forum is what we call the Unified View - the results of a search for recent posts that you have not yet seen. To post a new topic or question, go to the main forum...
Thanks for your thoughts, Len.
It's the hope that the forum provides that kind of help to many LF photographers that keeps us going.
You should post your request in the WTB sub-forum.
Thanks.
Looking into it.
You have full access to all areas, including the sales sub-forums.

We don't delete accounts, but we can de-activate your account if you wish. Use the "Contact us" link at the bottom of most pages to message the moderator group.
Not without major modifications to the forum software.
Emil, note, too, that once you have retrieved the images you want, you can create archives here, using the "Album" function, accessed via your profile. Just click on the "My Profile" link at the...
Emil, this may help:
1. go to google.com, and enter the text string, as Peter suggested:

I'll thank you for the comment tomorrow, or in the next few days. ;-)

"Empty Folder" worked for me, but that may be a result of moderator authorization. Try clicking on the folder, then the top check-box at the right to select all the messages, then the "Selected...
Yes, when QT started the forum, it was originally part of Philip Greenspun's usenet.org. But, as Sal mentioned, QT moved the forum to its own domain after usenet was sold and later became photo.net....
I'm not seeing the anomaly you are describing, Sal.
If you are "perpetually" logged in, try logging off, then logging back in. Then, go to the main index by clicking on the forum logo, and scroll down to see the for-sale sub-forum.
Oren is the most active moderator, but policies are determined by a consensus between the three of us, plus the owner, when appropriate.
Among other things, the 30-day waiting period allows the new member to participate in discussions, which allows others to determine whether they want to do business with them.
Wonderful idea, although I won't be able to attend.
Where, exactly, are you gathering in Brattleboro?
I use a golf cart to carry two camera in the field. ;)
The thread displays properly for me on Win10/Firefox 69.0, as well as on my iPhone with Firefox.

Tom is working on server changes that should improve overall system reliability. These changes won't have any effect on the forum software, however.
The PM system is designed for conversations involving short text messages. If you need to send images, or large amounts of text, it is best to move the conversation to e-mail.
As I recall PMs have always been restricted to text only, due to storage limitations. The URL insert doesn't store the image, so that is permitted.
The image options seem to be working for me. How are you attempting to insert/append the image? From the "insert image" icon in the edit window tool bar, or from the "Manage Attachments" tab in the...

Roger is correct. Please read the forum description, and the guidelines pertaining to the buy/sell sub-forums. The rules are strictly enforced to avoid chaos.
There is an automated script that promotes new members at the end of the 30-day probationary period. Like all computer programs, it is picky - down to the hour:minute the person joined. Occasionally,...
If the accessories are advertised in the "item" listing, they should be detailed and priced, even if sold separately from the item.
