    yes it is actually, i set everything up and hoped for the best, tried to get my face on the same plane as hers lol, (she was like "why is this taking so long?") i put the film holder in and jumped in the picture hoping i had it set high enough where i didnt cut my head off (im almost 6'8) my son pressed the shutter release for me. thanks for the congrats

    yes, but it wont do you any good. Think of this as a mirror. If you wont see highlights - you wont see all the funky wee circles that you using it for.

    You need to move light closer in (or increase apparent size by other means), then
    - highlights will become larger


    but if you move light closer (which still increases apparent size) there is one extra effect you will gain - light falloff will become much more sharp-ish (inverse square law) so you may get less light travelling to and thus - from background. Only problem it will be utterly tricky as its got such a high reflective ability. So i'd still move model out just a bit, to gain at least half of the stop difference (better yet - 1.5). Meter for incident light on her face. Then meter reflected light from background. Move. Repeat till happy
