Here are a couple of color photos that I made in 2003 and recently printed for the still life show at the Open Shutter Gallery in Durango. The show continues until June 30th.
The photos were made with the Linhof Color rail camera, Schneider Symmar 135mm lens, on Kodak Portra 160VC.

Here is another of my still lifes. Same camera and lens, but with Kodak TMAX 400.
You can't tell from the scan, but by using a little lens tilt the 16x20 print shows the soundings and text sharp and readable from front to back.

More decay, gloomier atmosphere. This time in 8x10 TMY. I have to scan twice and tone map to make it interesting.

Here's two I made yesterday. I used a Kodak 2D with 2 x aluminum spun lamps clamped either side on the main rail of the 2D. Bulbs used were daylight balanced flourescent tubes corrected to daylight. Both plates were whole plate sized trophy aluminum using wet plate collodion. Lens used was a 10" Darlot petzval F4. 30 seconds exposure. The plates holder was a 'Bill Schwab' 8x10 plate holder with whole plate adaptor. So nice to use!!!

What did you use for the background. It is very well balanced in terms of tone itself without distracting from the subject.
