    Re: ...October portraits

Here's a portrait, kinda, from today. I shot a REAL press camera, a Speed Graphic w/ 127mm Ektar (actually a US Army Signal Corps camera) at the Valdosta State Uni. homecoming football game. It was a ton of fun, even though I only had 8 sheets with me. I even had a "pro" photographer ask me "if I could get film for that?" No surprise I guess. Anyway, I shot TMX100 at 80, developed in Rodinal 1:50. Aperture of f/8, 1/500 FP shutter speed"

I hope you told him that you could photograph black people in harsh sun and hold detail in both shadow and highlight far better than his best digital. That's the kind of shot that really separates the hacks from the pros, technically speaking.

Picture of my sister when I had home visit last month. Taken using Chamonix camera with a APO Symmar 150mm lens.

I like it. The shoes are great.

I didn't get to much into it with him, we actually have a bit of "history." He's a big-name journalism photographer that just got a new job that I was offered first (university photographer), but I took a different job. He always tries to one-up me when I'm around (You still shoot film?? All the pros ditched that!).
