Your photo reminds me of the 6-panel folding screens that were popular in classical Japanese painting, like this one by Tosa Mitsuoki.

I was taking a workshop in conjunction with Montclair State College and the National Park Service. 3 weekends for the NPS and 3 weekends for personal work. This piece of plywood had at one point been painted blue. It had probably been outside exposed to the elements for 20-30 years. I used a red filter on it.

I always thought this would look good in a psych(oanalyst, iatrist, ologist)'s office. I have one printed at 16x20 and it looks great. BTW, I also have said "pattern on a fish" and "bird gone crazy [dead actually]" images.
