    What about the light reflection in her eyes?

    Captivating, but should they be there.... I don't know... would it be better without?

    Well.. I am firm believer that eyes without specular highlight do become lifeless in portrait, so i am always trying to have something even as odd as bare cigarette pack foil to throw some spark there. It is probably a bit too hard for the period, and i should've used different modifier with different shape (to be larger and more rectangular, perhaps) , but oh well One of those things that i am marking in "to try" mental folder.

    very cool. One day i shall be brave enough to try collodion too Right after i would manage to find decent portrait lens(bright) that covers 8x10

    works well with blacks and whites, dots and texture.
    Her complexion is naturally light with a bit of an olive hue, so with an orange filter she goes all creamy white like that. What surprised me about this shot is how much younger she looks. She's 25, but you'd never guess it from this photo.
