    What about pressure necessarily applied to the fixed drum during mounting and taping? Could it have a detrimental effect on the drum's balance and possibly cause damage in the long run?

    Which drum scanner has a fixed non-removable drum? I have never seen one like this.

    Scanview Scanmate 3000, another Scanview model and also Screen DTS-1015ai.

    hey, either you want newton rings or you don't. I have a screen (1030ai, actually two) and they seem to be well built machines. I'd prevent damage by only using necessary force.

    And have a removable drum... This Scanmate 3000 seems well-built, too. What kind of tape do you recommend for this purpose?

    as I said, Aztek sells it. Do some google searching at this point, all these questions have been asked.

    If you use Kami, you should use Aztek's tape, as Kami will eat the adhesive on a number of tapes, and you don't want a sheet flying off why the machine is running. Do a search here. Lenny Eiger has a How-to video on wet-mounting on a drum.
