I played with the lens some. I now understand that the cocking lever is also the shutter release. I stuck a toothpick up the cable release tube, and the shutter worked! The sync works too. I think the lens & shutter are fine, except slowest speeds are off. For $210 plus a CLA, I think I did fine here! While the Protars are going for a small fortune, there are some great deals out there on some sweet Velostigmats!
